Gas Line

Permit-pulled. Pressure-tested. Inspector on site.

Gas-line install and repair for ranges, dryers, water heaters, outdoor cooktops, and fireplace conversions — every job permit-pulled with Mecklenburg County, every job inspected before the appliance connects.

Gas smell now?

Hang up the phone. Call 911 first. Evacuate the structure. Call us second, from outside. We will dispatch as soon as the fire department clears the structure.

Gas-line work is the one residential plumbing service where the price of cutting corners is catastrophic. The other services — drain, fixture, water heater — fail in ways that are expensive and annoying. Gas-line work fails in ways that hurt people. This is why we do every gas job under permit with Mecklenburg County, why we pressure-test every new run before we connect, and why we will not connect an appliance until the inspector has signed off.

We install new gas lines for kitchen ranges, gas dryers, gas water heaters, gas fireplaces, gas log sets, outdoor cooktops, gas grills (plumbed-in), and pool heaters. We repair existing gas lines (rusted black iron, failed flare fittings, damaged CSST). We do not do commercial gas work outside small-shop applications.

Frequently asked

Do I need a permit for gas-line work?

Yes. North Carolina requires a permit for any new gas line, any extension of an existing line, and any appliance connection that involves modifying the gas system. The permit is included in our quoted price.

How do you test for leaks?

After install, we pressurize the new line to 30 PSI with air (not gas) and watch the gauge for 15 minutes. Any drop indicates a leak. The Mecklenburg County inspector witnesses the test before signing off. We do not connect the appliance until the test passes.
